250 // Home for the weekend, looking for a good time

Hey guys! I know it's been a while since I did a public post, but I swear, I have not disappeared.
I'm currently in my A.P. Studio Art class and it occurred to me that I could post my work on here and see what you guys think. It's a multimedia collage and it's been a work in progress for quite a while now. I'm planning on finishing it by the end of next week though and I'm rather excited.

A few notes:
- It's not done
- The Photoshop on this computer seems to exaggerate the contrast, so the images will look a bit dull. I'll have to take the piece home to do the final color touches.
- I will be adding two figures to the beach
- It will be a 18x24in poster as a final, so I have a small image and an image that is zoomed to full size so you can get an idea of the detail

How/What:
- Sketch in photoshop using tablet
- Digital photography for background base images (own photos)
- Went crazy with water colors/ink (very fun day) then scanned and added to piece
- Tons of layer and lots of patience

After looking at these images for a little while, I'M REALLY BUGGED BY THE COLOR. It's so bright in Photoshop, but once it's saved everything goes crazy dull. I'll have to fix that real fast before I have an aneurysm or somthing.

Wow, I'm actually starting to get some very strong angry feelings here. BLERGH. & it's rather blurry, which makes absolutely no sense. The tree is dead clear in Photoshop. I've got to get this work to another computer ASAP.

I'll be sure to post the final, for my own sake I think, because this is just bugging the crap out of me. Anyways, what do you guys think so far? Constructive criticism is so very much appreciated. Go easy on anything having to do with color/contrast/brightness because, trust me, it'll be fixed.

This was a weird batch. Half of them are not good while the other half aren't too shabby. I guess that's what happens when you stop iconning for three quarters of a year and decide to jump back in. This batch is me trying to get back into the swing of things. Let me know what you guys think! I'm still terrified of text, lol.

A little tribute to my absolute favorite ship of all time. Yes, this is a big deal. Enjoy!

The mix is somewhat posted in a story format. If you're at a complete lost as to how the song connects to Draco, Hermione or D/Hr read the little story segment. However, the little segments jump around like crazy, so please don't expect them to all make sense together. This mix is my illustration of the ship, and I felt that I had to justify it = the only reason for the stories. Also, note, the music is all over the place in this mix. I've got pop, rock, acoustic, alternative, so I hope that everyone will be able to enjoy the mix in some way or another. To summarize: Don't understand the connection? Read the story. :)

ALSO: I strayed away from the SUPER!angst, HOLYSHT!sex and VIOLENT!Draco.

Who did he think he was? He didn't own the bloody halls! Hermione picked up her books from the floor in a hurry hoping to make
it to class on time. She loathed the way he lived as if he owned the school -- no, as if the whole world was bent on making him happy.
She turned and caught a glimpse of his toned figure turning the corner and she caught his smirk. Damn Malfoys!
They have a way of ruining a sunny day.

Hermione threw down her quill in frustration. She had to focus her mind if she was to get her potions essay done. She grabbed her
jacket and set off to the Great Lake for some much needed Hermione time. She settled with her back to a tree stump and watched
the ripples of the lake while she tried to figure out what had happened to her. Just yesterday she had hated him -- wait, no, she still
hated him. This was Parvati's fault. She groaned and slammed her head against the tree. She had been too busy hating him to notice
his absolute beauty and oh, his body! It was as if her eyes were opened to a whole other side of him. Sure, he was a git, but she couldn't
get him off her mind.

but currently she followed out the Great Hall and into the chilly night. The darkness engulfed them, but he led her
with confidence. They arrived at an old secluded oak at the edge of school grounds.
"What are we doing?" Hermione asked shivering. "I don't know," Draco replied looking at her.
She felt his eyes on her and suddenly felt vulnerable.
Draco and Hermione knew exactly why they were standing in the darkness that night.

It started with just a kiss, and innocent little kiss. Hermione scoffed, with Draco, nothing is innocent.
Just a kiss, but she needed more. She wanted his lips on hers every second and it was torture watching him from afar in the Great Hall.
She knew he had probably already forgotten about it. A kiss means nothing to Draco Malfoy.
If only he knew what she would do to feel him again...

Draco glanced up from his breakfast to see Hermione flipping her hair as she talked to the two losers she called her friends.
Weasley seemed distant, probably sore over his recent break up with Granger. Draco shook his head. Why would Weasle throw something like her away?
He looked up again to see Potter's arm around her shoulder. She looked up in time to catch the frown on Draco's face.
Malfoys are winners. Draco was a winner. Hermione was going to be his, he needed her and he wasn't going to lose this prize.

"You can't expect me to be yours when you go off and shag Pansy every bloody night! Gods, Malfoy, think about that for one second!"
Draco thought. "I enjoy shagging her!" he said. "I want you both."
Hermione couldn't believe what she had just heard. She had forgotten she was sleeping with a Malfoy.

"You can't have us both Malfoy."

She hadn't talked to him for weeks. He hadn't changed and she knew it. He was shagging the school's female population and Hermione
was glad that she was no longer apart of that activity. What had she been thinking?! "Let go of me, Malfoy!" she said as she attempted
to wriggle out of his grip. "No. Granger, we need to talk," he whispered as he tightened his grip. They turned into an empty cooridor
and Draco slammed her against a wall. "Granger, please, just listen." She sturggled against him. She was stuck. "Fine," she said
in defeat. "I don't know what you did to me. I don't know if you snuck a potion into my drink or if you cursed me with a spell,
but you did something. Granger. Hermione, I need you. Please." She shook her head.
"No, I learned my lesson. Now, please, let me go," she said avoiding his eyes. He let her go and she walked off without looking back. "I know you need me too. Don't deny it Granger."
She stopped. She didn't need him and she never did. Hermione turned to look at Draco who held out his hand to her.

"Let's leave," she sighed. He kissed her forehead and held her close, trying to remember this moment for all time.

He finished his dinner in record time.
"Where are you off to in such a hurry?" Pansy asked letting her fingers trail a design along Draco's back. "I don't have any plans tonight," she continued while
she suggestively let her fingers drop to his lower back. "Urhm, not tonight Pans," Draco mumbled as got up from the table.
A few moments later he had swept out of the Hall. Pansy frowned and turned back to her food.
Across the hall Potter had also just been ditched by a certain curly haired witch who happened to be in a hurry.
Coincidence? Pansy didn't think so either.

Draco screamed in anger. What did his father expect of him? He wasn't his father, Draco wished that Lucious could see that.
He punched the wall drawing blood from his knuckles. He had to end it. Draco held his hands in he head in agony.
He couldn't end it, but he knew he must. It was the only way she could be saved.

I'm up way too late right now, as it is past midnight, and I have a huge soccer tournament all weekend. Probably not the smartest move on my part. (Anders, if you're reading this, I love you!)

2. An old graphics project that has a special place in my heart. This guy is my pride and joy, so I thought I'd share him with you all.

Perhaps I'll go back to posting some public entries more often. I'm going to post my entire graphics portfolio on here as soon as the year ends for sure. But, honestly, I'm not so sure that I'll ever get back into icons. Oh, and while I'm on the topic of design, I may be getting an internship next summer at a local design firm! That means I'll have spent this summer at an art school for design and next summer actually getting some expierence in the feild. How awesome would that be?!

Tutorial 9 - Dramione Icon
Before Steps	Steps	After Steps
	I started this icon with two COS captures. I can't seem to find the Hermione one. Oh well. Roughly selected the subject. No need to be exact. ROUGHLY.
	After you ROUGHLY selected your subject, right click the selected area and choose the feather option. I useed 25px on these caps, but it varries for different caps.
N/A	Open a new file sized 100x100, or whatever size you wish. Fill with all black.
	Paste your feathered Draco to one side of the icon. Unsaturate the layer. Duplicate this layer twice. There should be 3 Dracos. On the layer pallete, set the first (bottom one) to Normal 100%, the second to Screen 100% and the third (top) to Soft Light 100%. Now Draco has some contrast. Feel free to erase any extra ugly background.
	Repeat the same process with a selected, feathered capture of Hermione. She needed different Screen and Soft Light settings since the lighting for her cap was a bit different. That may be the case for your caps too! Play with the opacities and expirament!
	Merge all of the layers and then duplicate the merged layer. Set the duplicate to Screen 69%. This helps make our lovely little couple a bit brighter and a little easier to see.
	When we put the Screen layer on we lost a little of the contrast. SO, duplicate the merged layer again, bring to the top and set to Soft Light 48%. Again, play with your settings. These numbers worked especially well with THIS icon. It will probably be different for yours.
	I then opened up a stock picture, that I can't seem to find for the life of me (I've moved computers since I made this icon). But if you have it please share, so I can link it! Anyways, it was already on the white background, so I cropped it and pasted it in. ALL DONE!

If you have any questions at all, please ask away! I'll be glad to assist you in any way possible.

I only ask that you:
+ Do not use the same caps to make the same exact icon
+ If you must annoy me and make the same icon, don't ask for credit. You didn't actually make it.

I've been taking a portrait class for the last couple of weeks and I've realized that I really like drawing portraits! The features of the human face are so interesting. Everyong is so distinctly different, yet we are the same. Trying to capture the little things that make each us who we are is SO FREAKING HARD on paper. Major kudos to anyone who can draw out there.

Anyways, I think I'm going to start scanning things and posting my drawings here. What does that makes this journal? Personal, graphic, and art now. Interesting.

A couple of minutes ago, I scanned some eyes I was working on with the intention of posting them. For the first time I realize how the scanner actually does make them look yucky. I swear, THEY LOOKED BETTER ON PAPER! The scanner didn't pick up on the subtle, detailed shading, so it look like there is a straight line/edge to the shadow. You'll see what I mean...

This scan is driving me nuts. The bridge of the nose was shaded and everything was blended nicely!

The second pair of eyes belongs to Leonardo Dicaprio. Some of you may have noticed that my Leo obsession is starting to creep back into my life. My final portrait for the class will be of him, so I need to practice his eyes. He's a cutie.

I'm desperatly searching for the HQ of this photo. I'm planning on framing it in my room, but the largest I can find is below. I have seen an HQ, but it was a long time ago and I have no idea where I found it. I do know that it was scan that had some imperfections. I've checked all the Leo fansites, but I'm hoping maybe someone may have it.

HIATUS

I feel pretty bad. I've just added so many friends and I'm going on hiatus. What horrid timing. I'll only be gone for about a week and a half. Our family is hosting a foreign exchange student and I want to spend as much time with her as possible. I'll miss you all though! ♥

Due to some complications (my computer turning itself off and my brother deleting files!) the interest icons are going to be a bit delayed. I had almost all of them done and they were all deleted, as well as my Dark Knight icons. I'm a bit angry and very frustrated.

I'm going to follow alfiri 's lead and open up a request post. I don't have any special reason other than the fact that I'm going through a creative slump. Total and complete photoshop block. I've spit up about 10 icons in the last two weeks, the rest have just been awful.

So, if you please read the following, we can get started in no time!!

HOW TO REQUEST.

You may choose from 2 options:
1) You provide me with up to 5 MQ or HQ photos to work with. I do prefer HQ, but we all know that it isn't always possible to get the perfect picture in HQ. Skandar's photoshoots have proven that.
2) You provide me with up to 5 subjects/fandoms/interests to work with. The more specific they are, the happier we both will be.

Yes, you can give me 3 pictures and 2 interests. Just make sure that you don't request over 5 items.

DO NOT SEND ME TO YOUR INTERESTS LIST IN YOUR USERINFO. YOU WILL GET NO ICONS.

You may choose from:
Icons | Headers | Wallpapers | Other, just ask
BUT, please, no more than 1 large graphic per person.
Also, please provide the dimensions in pixels of your large graphic requests.

There is no limit on the number of people who can request, but this post will be closing on Monday night. Any requests submitted after that may not be completed, but there is a slight chance.

This mix actually has a story. It started out as an Edward/Bella mix that was based off of a mix that my boyfriend gave me. I started editting his mix -- adding and subtracting songs. I started to realize some of them weren't exactly Edward/Bella. I quickly switched it over to Jacob/Bella even though that is definitely not my ship. Then I saw that Bella thought NONE of these thoughts. She is totally Edward (as of now -- before Breaking Dawn), so then it was revised into Jacob Black exclusively. That is how it stayed. I'm all good with that since I love Jake! Even though it is Jacob Black, this mix is completely centered around his feelings for Bella.

My very first fanmix! It didn't turn out as wonderful as I had planned, but I'm ok with it.
